Overview

Hungary's Guest Investor Programme grants a 10-year residence permit, renewable for a further 10 years, to non-EU investors who buy €250,000 of units in a real estate investment fund registered with the Hungarian National Bank and hold them for at least five years. Philanthropists can instead donate €1 million to a Hungarian higher-education institution.

Applications take around 6 months and there is no minimum stay. The direct property route closed on 1 January 2025.
