Only 149 Indians applied for EB-5 in 2016

The US State Department Report of the Visa Office 2016 has been updated with Table V (Part 3), which gives a breakdown of all EB visas issued by country in fiscal year 2016.

A total of 159 Indians applied for the popular EB-5 program to obtain US green cards in 2016, compared over 7000 investors from China.

• 32 Indians applied through $500,000 TEA (Targeted Employment Area)
• 6 Indians applied through $1 million not in TEA through direct investment
• 111 Indians applied through Regional target areas ($500k)

• 317 EB-5 applications from India are pending
• 46,188 Indians acquired for US citizenship in 2016
