Overview

Dominica, the 'Nature Island' of the Caribbean, has offered citizenship by investment since 1993 and is consistently rated one of the best-run programmes in the world. Investors qualify through a US$200,000 contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund (EDF) or an investment of at least US$200,000 in government-approved real estate held for three years.

Applications are processed by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) in around 6 months. Dominica's pricing already sits at the new regional ECCIRA minimum, so no price rise is expected from Caribbean harmonisation. From 2026 new citizens collect their passport in person in Dominica.
