Overview

Hong Kong's New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (New CIES) grants residence to investors with net assets of at least HK$30 million who invest HK$30 million in permissible assets, including HK$3 million in the CIES Investment Portfolio. Equities, bonds, funds and property all count. Since 1 March 2026, homes above HK$30 million count up to HK$10 million, and non-residential property up to HK$15 million.

Applications take around 6–12 months. Investors and their families can live, work and study in Hong Kong, and become eligible for permanent residence after seven years.
