Overview

Latvia offers Europe's lowest-cost investor residence. Since 15 September 2026, investors qualify by investing €50,000 in the share capital of a Latvian company and paying a €10,000 state fee (€60,000 in total), or by investing €150,000 in an approved alternative investment fund. The earlier real estate, bank deposit and bond routes no longer qualify for new applicants.

Applications take around 6 months. New applicants receive a two-year residence card, with permanent residence after five years and citizenship after ten years with Latvian language.
