Overview

Section 7(2)(b) of Slovakia's Citizenship Act lets the state grant citizenship without the usual residence period to people who have made a substantial contribution to the Slovak Republic in the economic, scientific, technical, cultural, social or sporting sphere.

Economic contributions – investments or donations – are confirmed by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance or SARIO. The contribution must already have been made, and applicants must hold permitted residence in Slovakia.
